What is Opal Hair?
An opal is a gem that shows different bright and slightly darker colours, such as blue, purple and pink. Opal Hair is a "new" trend, you dye your hair in the colours of the rainbow, but instead of using bright colours you use pastel colours. Opal Hair has a rainbow look, but the colours are softer and less bright.
To get Opal Hair your hair needs to be almost grey.

. You can mix the pastelizer with any colour hairdye to make it a softer (pastel) colour. You can give your hair a light or grey tint with the pastelizer, which will make it easier for your hair to absorb the pastel colours. After you've used the pastelizer you can use a diversity of pastel colours, think about all the beautiful colours that appear when you blow soap bubbles!
Before adding the dye to your hair use a . This shampoo will make your hair a little stiffer so the color will stay in your hair longer. After you’ve washed your hair, section the hair in the lower neck area in different strands. Now you can dye your hair strand by strand. Try to use a pattern, for instance pink-purple-green-blue. It’s not a problem if there’s some blonde hairs that didn’t take the dye. However it is important that the hair is laying downwards so it won’t stain other strands.
